Will a Razr that was used on Verizon work for ATT/Cingular?

We have an ATT/Cingular cell phone plan. A friend gave us a Razr that she had been using on a Verizon cell phone plan. Can we use this phone on ATT or is it incompatible? If we can use it, what is involved in switching?
We have an LG phone that we don’t like (not enough memory for ring tones or games or photos), so we could move the SIM card from the LG phone into the Razr if it would work.
